Location of 60 Acre Placer or Lode Mining Claim
Mining Claim Description
Your mining claim will include a single unpatented placer or lode claim, covering approximately 60 acres located on federal land managed by either the U.S. Forest Service or the Bureau of Land Management.
For each 20-acre parcel, you are required to provide one name or business name. If your claim covers 40 acres, you must supply two names or two business names. Similarly, a claim of 60 acres will require three names or three business names.
It is possible that your claim may be situated on a historical mining site that has previously produced gold and/or silver.
Precious metals
Gold: Historically significant in Idaho, with both lode and placer deposits found throughout the state, including in the Snake River.
Silver: Frequently found in association with lead and zinc deposits, particularly in the Coeur d'Alene district.
Rare Earth Minerals: Idaho has significant deposits of rare earth elements (REEs) and other critical minerals, particularly in the Florence Mining District, Lemhi Pass region, the Murray Gold Belt, and near Salmon. Several companies are exploring and developing these resources, with some projects focusing on both gold and REEs. Recent efforts are underway to advance domestic supply chains, with the Idaho National Laboratory collaborating on REE processing.
Platinum Group Metals: Recent discoveries have indicated the presence of platinum and palladium in certain areas of Idaho.
Other valuable minerals and gemstones
Copper: Found in various locations, often alongside silver and lead.
Lead: A common byproduct of silver mining, especially in northern Idaho.
Zinc: Also found in association with lead and silver deposits.
Gemstones: The "Gem State" is known for a wide variety of gems, including amethyst, aquamarine, rubies, sapphires, and garnets.
Antimony: While less common for direct mining today, Idaho was a significant source of antimony, often recovered as a byproduct of silver mining.

Features of Your Mining Claim
Your mining claim may encompass a variety of features that are characteristic of active and historic mining operations. These include shafts and adits, which provide underground access to mineral deposits, as well as prospect pits that indicate areas of exploratory excavation. Ore piles may be present, representing material extracted during previous mining activities. The site could also contain underground workings, waterways, and desert or mountainous terrain, reflecting the diverse environments where mining occurs.
In addition to natural and industrial features, your claim may include miners' cabins and mill sites, offering a glimpse into the living and processing facilities once used by miners. Relics from earlier periods of mining activity may also be found, contributing to the historical significance and character of the claim.
Mining Claim Information
Location and Access
The specific location of your mining claim will be determined at the time of claim establishment. Please indicate whether you require access for a four-wheel drive or a two-wheel drive vehicle. While we aim to secure claims with convenient access, we can also locate more secluded sites for those seeking additional privacy. GPS coordinates for the claim will be provided upon location.
Mining and Exploration Potential
Geophysical methods such as magnetics and resistivity to identify veins beneath soil cover and buried intrusive rocks, which can lead to significant discoveries. Given the high grades of ore found in nearby areas, either the existing vein or any newly discovered veins may be suitable for direct shipment to a contract mill. This can result in faster and more favorable returns.
General District
Idaho is home to numerous productive mining districts. We work diligently to find the richest districts and areas within your selected regions of interest.
Local Geology
A comprehensive geological study and report for the local area in which your mine is situated will be provided to you.
Available Reports
All relevant and available reports will be supplied to you once your mine has been located and assigned.
Why Buy a Mining Claim?
Acquiring a mining claim is an excellent way to begin mining and prospecting. When you purchase a professionally located and staked claim, you reduce both the initial workload and the risk of errors in paperwork or fieldwork. Our claims are situated in areas with historical mining activity and most feature multiple pits, shafts, and adits for exploration. Extensive research has already been conducted to find these claims. The best locations for gold prospecting are often those where gold has previously been discovered.
A mining claim is considered real property and can be transferred, gifted, willed, leased, or sold in the same manner as other real estate. You can leave your claim to children, grandchildren, or any other beneficiary you choose.
Why Choose Us?
We are committed to working diligently on your behalf and guiding you through the process efficiently, maintaining regular communication throughout. Our services are tailored to your specific needs, including searching for and filing mining claims based on your preferred location, experience level, equipment, and other requirements. We strive to identify claims with established high-grade veins and additional exploration potential. If any issues arise, we stand by our claims and address them promptly. Assistance with annual filings is also available.
All our claims are registered with a BLM serial number and can be found in the U.S. BLM MLRS website database. We employ the same professional claim staking companies used by major mining firms, and all claims feature professionally drafted, accurate maps.
Your satisfaction and profitability are our top priorities. Our goal is to build a lasting relationship, serving you repeatedly and with confidence.
Transferring Claim Ownership
Ownership of mining claims is transferred via a Quit Claim Deed, which we prepare, or through Location documents filed on your behalf. All claim transfer fees are paid by us, and we handle filing with both the BLM and the respective county recorder’s office. The BLM typically requires two to three weeks to process and register the claim in your name. County recorder offices usually return the recorded Quit Claim Deed within one to two weeks. Location papers may take slightly longer. Upon completion, you will receive all original documents, including the filed and stamped Quit Claim Deed, original location notices, and claim maps. In some instances, documents may be delivered to you directly from the relevant BLM or county office.
Annual Claim Fees
The BLM charges an annual maintenance fee of $200 per claim for each 20 acres, due on September 1st every year. Fees can be paid online through their claim management portal. If you own fewer than ten mining claims, you may qualify for a waiver of the annual maintenance fee by filing a Small Miner’s Waiver form. This waiver requires $100 in labor or improvements on the claim each year. If you choose this option, you must submit a Small Miner’s Exemption Form along with an Affidavit of Assessment form and a $15 fee per claim to the BLM. The affidavit must first be filed with the county courthouse, which also requires a $13 filing fee.
International Buyers
International buyers must either hold dual U.S. citizenship and have a U.S. address, or own a U.S. entity or company to possess a mining claim.
